Continuing the project he began with ‘Torsten The Beautiful Saint’ (2014) and ‘Torsten The Beautiful Libertine’ (2016) Andy Bell is set to play the role of Torsten in a brand new stage show and solo album, both entitled ‘Torsten In Queereteria’, later this year.
In ‘Torsten In Queereteria’ Andy Bell – alongside Peter Straker (Hair, Ken Hill’s Original Phantom Of The Opera, Doctor Who) – will reprise the role of Torsten, now starring in ‘Queereteria TV’, a musical-comedy set in a post-apocalyptic Britain, where three egotistical misfits attempt to reinstate live TV transmissions from the infamous ‘Queereteria’ cruising club.
Featuring fifteen brand new songs the ‘Torsten In Queereteria’ album will be released as a limited-edition CD in deluxe hardback book packaging, alongside standard CD and Download formats, on April 12th 2019. The deluxe edition of the album will be limited to just 1000 copies and will see the album presented in a 48-page hardback format featuring photographs, lyrics and poems. In addition, the deluxe edition of the album – which will only be available online from CHERRY RED MAIL ORDER, or from the Above The Stag Theatre at performances of the forthcoming stage production of the show – will also feature an unreleased Bronski Beat remix of ‘I Don’t Like’, the original version of which features on the ‘Torsten The Bareback Saint’ album.
The ‘Torsten In Queereteria’ stage production – starring Andy Bell as Torsten – will open at London’s Above The Stag Theatre on Wednesday April 10th and will run until Sunday April 28th and tickets are now available online from the ABOVE THE STAG BOX OFFICE.
