Erasure took a break from writing yesterday to support Sharon Osbourne and Cyndi Lauper in TV's Celebrity Apprentice competition. Sharon and Cyndi were serving drinks at NYC's Burger Heaven for the forthcoming series and Vince and Andy popped by to make a donation to charity and to have a quick Coke!
SkyHigh Radio are dedicating a whole night to Erasure this Saturday to celebrate the release of the 21st anniversary edition of The Innocents.
SkyHigh is an online radio station so you can listen from anywhere in the world and the show will play requests and dedications throughout the show (you can submit requests during the show but pre-submitted requests will be given priority, and no bootleg requests please!) and there are also live forums available if you want to chat with other fans during the show.

Not part of the promotion for The Innocents but interesting all the same, Mute Records founder Daniel Miller mentions Erasure a couple of times in an interview he did with The Quietus to tie in with the first broadcast of BBC4's excellent documentary 'Synth Britannia' which aired last Friday.

We've been sent another picture of Vince and Andy working on the new album in the USA yesterday. They have been working daily in New York City, writing new songs on guitar and piano and committing those ideas to their trusty digital mini-taperecorder. Both are pleased with the sessions and say they have several good song ideas already. 
They finished early yesterday so Andy could make it to see Kylie Minogue's concert!
As a result of an error on the part of iTunes Erasure's new Phantom Bride EP went onsale in the iTunes Store for £7.99 yesterday. The cost has now been adjusted to the correct price which is £4.99.

EMI are to release a budget compilation entitled 'Erasure - 10 Great Songs' on November 2nd. The album is part of a new series of budget titles that EMI have put together specifically for sale through 'non-traditional outlets' and as a result may not be available to buy through the usual music outlets. Other artists to feature in the series include Blondie, The Stranglers, Radiohead, Hot Chocolate, Billy Idol, Dean Martin and Kenny Rogers.

Vince and Andy met up in New York City this week to start work on the new Erasure album. Writing started yesterday and here's a picture of them back together again! The new album is tentatively scheduled for release towards the end of next year and the band will be keeping us in the loop on their progress, so keep checking back for updates as we get them!
While he's in NYC Andy will be playing a DJ set at the Gallery Bar at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleeker Street) this Saturday (October 10th). It's $10 in advance or $20 on the door and doors open at 9pm.
Mute USA have announced that they will be releasing the 21st anniversary 3-disc deluxe edition of The Innocents on November 24th.
