Erasure have today announced the first of their plans to celebrate their first thirty years in music, marked this week with the 30th anniversary of the release of the band’s first single ‘Who Needs Love (Like That)’.

In October Erasure will revisit their classic single ‘Sometimes’ – rebooted for 2015 in a new mix by David Wrench (Hot Chip, Jamie XX, Caribou) – on CD and via Digital Download. The single will feature the updated version alongside new remixes and rare archive material and will precede the release of a new 3-CD compilation ‘Always – The Very Best of Erasure’ which will be available in a special hardback book format featuring a selection of the band’s singles from 1985 to today alongside two further discs of new and classic remixes. The first CD will also be available as a single disc compilation in standard Digipak packaging.

The band will follow those releases in 2016 with a celebratory anthology boxset as well as a series of 180g heavyweight vinyl album reissues.

More details will be revealed soon, in the meantime here’s Erasure’s first ever appearance on Top of the Pops, performing ‘Sometimes’…
