May 28: Andy Bell award up for auction to benefit the Rett Syndrome Research Trust

Andy is auctioning the BPI silver disc he received in 1988 or Erasure's 'Two Ring Circus' album to benefit the Rett Syndrome Research Trust charity.



The award, to mark 200,000 UK sales of the album, has been signed on the reverse by Andy and is available for bids - via eBay - until June 3rd. The auction is open to bids from anywhere in the world, and shipping to the winner is free wherever they are.

Rett Syndrome is the most physically disabling of the autism spectrum disorders. Primarily affecting little girls, Rett often strikes just after they have learned to walk and say a few words, and begins to drag their development backward. This debilitating syndrome includes symptoms seen in many other severe neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders on which Rett research may shed light.

May 28: Andy Bell 'Pure Groove' DJ set and album signing cancelled

Sadly Pure Groove have been having problems with their local Council over noise levels from their instore performances and DJ sets. The shop have been forced to cancel all their planned events, including Andy's DJ set and signing session which was scheduled for June 11th. Sorry for any inconvenience but I'm afraid this decision was out of our hands.

May 19: Vince Clarke award up for auction to benefit the Rett Syndrome Research Trust

Vince Clarke is auctioning the BPI silver disc he received in 1983 for Yazoo's hit 'Nobody's Diary' to benefit the Rett Syndrome Research Trust charity.



The award, to mark 250,000 UK sales of the single, has been signed by Vince and is available for bids - via eBay - until May 26th.

May 14: Vince Clarke Ash remix available as a free download

UK act Ash are in the process of releasing twenty-six singles in one year - one song a fortnight between October 2009 and September 2010 - and Vince Clarke has remixed one of those singles, 'True Love 1980'. Vince's remix is currently being given away as a free download at the official Ash website…

May 13: Vince Clarke produces 'Lovesick' for Tonya Hurley and Polly Scattergood

Vince Clarke has produced and mixed a new song entitled 'Lovesick' which is sung by Polly Scattergood using lyrics written by Ghostgirl author Tonya Hurley. The lyrics were written for Ghostgirl character Scarlet to sing in the forthcoming book 'Ghostgirl - Lovesick', which is due for publication in July. Polly Scattergood then created the music for the track and provided vocals before handing the track over to Vince Clarke for mixing and production.

There is also a competition running on the Ghostgirl channel at YouTube which invites anyone to video-record their own version of 'Lovesick' in any style. Winners will have their video broadcast at Comic-Con as well as receiving all sorts of Ghostgirl merchandise signed by Tonya Hurley with a one-of-a-kind Ghostgirl guitar going to the overall winner!

May 12: More Andy Bell radio interviews scheduled to air on Sunday...

May 12: Andy Bell interview online at Real Radio Yorkshire

Andy's recent interview with Real Radio in Yorkshire aired yesterday and is available to listen to online. It's another good interview in which Andy discusses the 'Non-Stop' album, Vince Clarke vs Pascal Gabriel, making a video for 'Call On Me' at his home, 'DHDQ' (his tribute track to Debbie Harry) and the new Erasure album among many other things!

May 11: Andy Bell presents 'Digital Station of the Year' honour at radio awards

On Monday night Andy was one of the guest presenters at the Sony Radio Academy Awards in London where he presented the award for 'Digital Station of the Year' to Planet Rock!

May 10: Andy Bell interview on Lincs FM

John Marshall, over at Lincs FM, interviewed Andy last week about the 'Non-Stop' project and has very kindly allowed us to stream the interview for you below.

It's a great interview which covers the album, the new single 'Call On Me' and Erasure's new record among other things.

May 5: Italian radio station planning Andy Bell special

Italian online radio station Radio 35, in conjunction with the unofficial Italian ERASURE CLUB online forum, are planning a special night to celebrate the release of the new Andy Bell album 'Non-Stop'. The show will feature classic Erasure tracks alongside Andy's new singles and tracks from the 'Non-Stop' album and will broadcast at the beginning of June. Radio 35 are also open to suggestions about the tracks they include in the show, more details on the RADIO 35 website.
