20 Nov : Live DVD Release 'The Road To Nashville"

The brand new DVD release The Road To Nashville is out on 29th Jan 2007 (UK / Europe) and 20th Feb 2007 (North America) on Mute.

For 2006's Acoustic Tour Andy Bell and Vince Clarke reworked a selection of the defining songs that embody their two decades together and were joined onstage, for the first time ever, by a full band. Led by guitarist Steve Walsh, Andy Bell's vocals and Vince Clarke's guitar, mandolin and melodica were joined by an array of musicians and instruments that included the pedal steel, autoharp and banjo.

Filmed live on Erasure's Union Street Acoustic Tour in May 2006 in Nashville, Tennesse at the Ryman Auditorium (once home of the infamous Grand Ole Opry with a stage that once hosted a teenage Elvis Presley), the DVD features never before seen versions of hits and live favourites such as Oh L'Amour, Love To Hate You, Stop! Blue Savannah, Victim of Love and Sometimes as well as a short film, The Road to Union Street and a bonus audio CD featuring 18 of the live Nashville tracks.

The artwork for the DVD (shown below) features a re-working of the original Nashville show poster which was designed by Hatch Show Print for the Ryman Auditorium.

ALL SIGNED COPIES HAVE NOW SOLD OUT

Mute Bank have 50 signed copies of Vince Clarke & Martyn Ware's Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle available priced just £6.99. Each is signed by Vince and Martyn, individually numbered and available while stocks last.

Electronic pioneers Vincent Clarke of Erasure and Martyn Ware of Heaven 17 release 'Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle', the second album from two of the greatest musical innovators and follows the 'Pretentious' release from 1999. The six new instrumental recordings, of over seventy minutes, were originally premiered as part of a two-hour performance at the Roundhouse in London during February 2000. The one-off event was staged in a white clothed lined room, twelve metres in diameter, covered with the colours referred to in the title of each segment. The colours were programmed to cross fade during the event to achieve an almost infinite variation of colour.

Like 'Pretentious', the new album was uniquely recorded using logic audio platinum. The output from this was then spatialized using Animix 3D visualisation software and the Lake Huron 3D audio processor. Recorded in binaural format, for best results 'Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle' should be listened to on headphones.
