The Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards, the largest, most highly anticipated gala in the desert's social season, will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Proceeds benefit Desert AIDS Project.
With the cabaret theme, "An elegant evening with Barbara Cook, with a special performance by Erasure," the event promises to be another unforgettable classic Steve Chase.
The gala will be emceed by Debbie Reynolds, star of more than 30 motion pictures, two Broadway shows, two series and dozens of television appearances. Presenting awards to honorees will be four time Tony Award winner and star of stage, screen and television Angela Lansbury, and high-octane Oscar winner Shirley MacLaine.
"The Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards is the single largest fundraiser for Desert AIDS Project, allowing us to continue to fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic," note co-chairs Tim Hanlon and Bill Jones. "We are extraordinarily pleased to be a part of bringing an event of this caliber to the valley."
In addition to the performances by Barbara Cook and Erasure, the evening features cocktails, dinner and silent and live auctions. Tickets are $375 each, and can be obtained by calling 760-323-2118, ext. 249.
Andy Bell has been confirmed to appear live at the Rainbow Attitude Salon in Paris at 4.45pm, Saturday 22nd October where he will perform songs from his stunning solo album 'Electric Blue'.
This will be followed by a signing session on the Tribu Move magazine stand.

Several more DJ nights featuring Andy have now been confirmed. Andy will be DJing at various clubs across North America and will be singing live at a Rock Benefit Concert at the Avalon in Los Angeles. See the Live page for further details.
Andy's album 'Electric Blue' reached number 119 in the UK album chart at the end of it's first week. The sales of the album certainly weren't helped by the poor availability of the vinyl edition.
The EIS Gallery has had many additional fan photos added, and the Releases section is (slowly) having details of Andy and Vince's other projects (both Erasure and non-Erasure related) added.

Out now on CD & Ltd Ed blue vinyl is Andy Bell's incredible new album "Electric Blue".
As one half of Erasure, Andy has sold in excess of 20 million records worldwide, and chalked up over 30 hit singles.
Electric Blue features 14 brand new tracks, including two duets with Claudia Brücken (of Propaganda and Act) and Jake Shears (of Scissor Sisters), and encompasses a variety of musical genres.
The album was co-written and recorded throughout 2004 and 2005 with Manhattan Clique (Philip Larsen & Chris Smith) who, as well as Erasure, have also worked with Moby, The B-52's, Stereophonics and Goldfrapp.

The final UK chart placement for Andy's debut single is #35 (this chart is the combined chart placement for physical and digital download sales).

However it reached #4 in the UK Indie singles charts.
