21 July : Tribute Band: Dublin Performance

FlyerEraser (the Erasure tribute band that performed at EIS'04) will be performing a two hour show at the 'Ambassador Theatre' in Dublin on 3rd September 2005.

Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.ie and are priced at 22.50 Euros.

15 July : 'Electric Blue' Tracklisting

The final master of 'Electric Blue' (Andy Bell's solo album) has been delivered to Sanctuary, and the tracklisting is now confirmed as follows:

All the remixes for 'Crazy' have also now been delivered, and the boys are in the studio this week putting the final touches to their own MHC Remix. DJ club promos will be manufactured very shortly, and we will hopefully be adding some sound clips of the remixes to the sites very shortly.

15 July : Future Retro : Rhino Records/Warner Music (USA)

Originally due for release in July, the Rhino Records / Warner Music compilation "Future Retro" is now scheduled for a September release on both vinyl and CD formats.

Of particular interest on the CD version is the Electrospect mix of 'A Little Respect' by Jaded Alliance.

Current US release date is the 27th September.

LogoBillboard (the US music publication) has also covered the news regarding Andy Bell's new solo album on their website, and have added additional information.

"Larsen previously told Billboard the album encompasses styles that people may not have heard Bell experiment with before, along with a "duet or two." The project boasts a duet with Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears ("I Thought It Was You") and two with Claudia Brücken of Propaganda ("Love Oneself" and "Delicious").

According to Bell, he is planning live solo dates for late 2005 and early 2006. Also being discussed is a series of club DJ gigs (with Bell and Manhattan Clique) to coincide with the album's release." - Billboard

1 July : Andy Bell's New Album 'Electric Blue'

Erasure frontman Andy Bell has signed a worldwide solo recording deal with Sanctuary Records, and announced details of his debut album, which will be released on 3rd October 2005, and entitled 'Electric Blue'.

The first single release will be 'Crazy', released on September 26th. The single will come on three formats, with club remixes from Erasure partner Vince Clarke, plus Cicada, MHC and King Roc. It will also feature additional non-album tracks and the video, which is being made by the award-winning Al + Al.

The album features 14 brand new tracks, including two duets, with Claudia Brucken (of Propaganda and Act) and Jake Shears (of Scissor Sisters), and encompasses a variety of musical genres.

'Electric Blue' was co-written and recorded throughout 2004 and 2005 with Manhattan Clique (Philip Larsen & Chris Smith) who have worked with Erasure, Moby, The B-52's, Stereophonics and Goldfrapp in recent months.

Live dates are being planned for late 2005/early 2006, and the trio are also planning a series of PA's and DJ gigs around album release.

As one half of Erasure, Andy Bell has sold in excess of 20 million records worldwide, and chalked up over 30 hit singles. Latest album 'Nightbird' received huge critical acclaim, as did a recent sold-out European and North American tour.
