1) What's next for Erasure after the acoustic album? (Various)
Vince: I guess we'll start writing for a new album in the Spring of 2006.
2) Why didn't you like touring with Depeche Mode in 1980, 1981? If you look back through these years, do you feel that those were good years of your life or don't you think back to these times that often? (Andris H.)
Vince: The first early gigs with Depeche Mode were very exciting. More and more people were coming to see us and the venues were getting bigger. Eventually, however the touring got to be a drag and kinda' lost its magic.
3) Do you have any plans to write an autobiography? (Priya B)
Vince: "an autobiography" (joke). No, no plans.
4) How involved do you get in selecting folks to do re-workings / mixes of tracks for single releases and such? Do you have particular ideas for how you'd like to see such things turn out? I suspect the label has much to do with what ends up getting released and what not, but do you have strong reactions to the results of these things? (Ken)
Vince: The record label usually sort out the remixes and I don't really get involved. Most of the remixes eventually grow on me.
5) Vince, what is the chance that you, Andy and Alison Moyet might ever record something together? (Terry)
Vince: You never know.
6) Given Andy's recent foray into non-Erasure projects, do you have any plans to produce any further collaborative work along the lines of 'The Clarke and Ware Experiment' or the very clever 'Nice!' with 'Family Fantastic'? (Peter Farras)
Vince: I still work with Martyn on various projects, but my day job is working on the next Erasure record.
7) I've noticed a few people have done covers of songs you have written. What is your favourite cover and which do you think is the worst. (Suzy Gow)
Vince: I'm very fond of 'Love to Hate You' by The Grasshoppers and Wheatus' version of 'A Little Respect'. I have yet to hear the worst cover song. It's always flattering when anybody covers one of our songs.
8) Has you ever used a computer called 'Commodore 64' to make music? (Arne)
Vince: No. My first 'music' computer was the BBC Micro.
9) Do you still follow football? I read you used to be a part time Manchester United fan, is that still the case? (Daimien Hughes)
Vince: Now that I'm living in the States, I don't get the chance to watch much soccer.
10) Why do you, as the composer, feel that 'The Innocents' did so well in America while none of your subsequent releases has ever done that well. Is it that your "style" was popular back then but just isn't now? Or, is it that you are your own man and write your music to please yourself and Andy and not to make a top 10 hit in America. (Scott)
Vince: I guess 'The Innocents' was the right sound at the time and American radio picked up on it. We've always made music to please ourselves.
11) In a past interview you mentioned an original acoustic version of 'Moon & The Sky' that would be available for free download at the EIS site. What happened with that? I die for hear that version!!! (Guillermo Serrat)
Vince: See Greg. [Will look into this - Greg]
12) How would you define Erasure's career in one only word? (Anon)
Vince: Career
13) What other names were you toying with, before you came up with 'Erasure'? (Tracey)
Vince: See Andy
14) What are your favourite and least favourite Erasure videos? (Jackie)
Vince: My favourite video is 'Solsbury Hill' (heh heh). My least favourite is 'Oh L'Amour'
15) Would you consider sticking a commercially unreleased track on a file sharing program such as Kazaa and watch how popular it becomes? Even if it was just something you knocked up in a few days? (Mark Lawrie)
Vince: OK
16) Are you for or against file sharing, MP3s etc? It would be very interesting to hear your thoughts on this. (Shazza B)
Vince: I'm against individuals who haven't contributed to the creation of the music making money from file sharing. When I was a teenager I used to tape music off the radio.
