Nights were the second support act to join Erasure on the UK leg of The Violet Flame Tour and we caught up with them to find out how the Erasure tour experience treated them…

nights

Can you remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard that you were going to be touring with Erasure, and how did you react?
We were in the studio working on some new material when we had the call, we were all pretty excited about it. It’s a great opportunity to support such a great act and would be good exposure for us as it was also coinciding with the release of our debut single ‘Hey Love Hello’!

How did you feel before you stepped onto the stage for the first show in the tour?
It felt real good, there was a great atmosphere in Bristol Colston hall that night. As the lights came down and we stepped out we knew we gonna have fun.

How did you feel when you came off the stage?
We are always buzzing when we come off stage. Excited, animated , slightly sweaty and ready for the next venue. It’s always a good feeling playing on a large stage.

How have the Erasure audiences been for you so far?
Our main aim for a show is to give the audience as much energy and passion as we can give, we want you to enjoy listening to our music as much as we enjoy playing it.

For anyone who doesn’t know you, which one song would you make them listen to ‘get’ what you’re about?
We have just released Our debut single ‘Hey Love Hello’ which we feel is a great introduction to our band and what we are about.

Have you been watching Erasure’s performances?
We have been watching Erasures performances throughout the tour, they have been putting on one hell of a show night after night.

What’s your favourite Erasure song from the tour?
It’s gotta be ‘A Little Respect’ for us, gets us all singing. Great record.

Have you abused your Access All Areas privileges to go into places you shouldn’t have gone?
On a full production tour like this everything’s pretty organised and in its place. We did have a sneaky look at Erasure wardrobe though, some incredible stuff in there.

What’s on your rider?
The catering and riders have been impeccable, they’ve looked after us well. Cheers boys!

What was it like when you first met Vince and Andy, and what did you talk about?
We went over and introduced ourselves at dinner, they’re great lads. Friendly as it gets. The whole crew on this tour have been on form. It’s been a pleasure!

What’s the worst thing about being the support act?
They’ve made us feel really welcome so we couldn’t really say there has been anything bad about being the support act.

And the best thing?
Gaining new fans, making new friends and getting the opportunity to play to thousands of people each night. That’s what it’s all about and we are grateful for the opportunity.

How are you travelling from show to show?
We’ve got a great van and a great driver. It’s been pretty easy and comfortable the whole way.

On a scale of one to ten, how much fun are you having?
9.9999999 out of 10

What’s happening for you next, when you finish your dates with Erasure?
Straight after this tour we are off on our own tour to promote our Debut single ‘Hey Love Hello’ Dates and ticket links are available from our Facebook which you can reach via our website. Big thanks to all the people we’ve met along the way. See you in December
